Updates from This Year's Winners

First of all, I would like to thank the Philadelphia Gator Club Scholarship Committee for giving me this award. I am so honored! I absolutely love it here. I have no doubt that the University of Florida was the right choice for me. Since coming to Florida I have joined the Florida Gymnastics Club and I have also been involved with Habitat for Humanity. I am currently undecided in my major but I cannot wait to register for spring semester classes so I can explore even more options. The University of Florida offers so many great opportunities and has so many different programs, which is another reason
why I love it. By far my favorite aspect of being a Florida Gator definitely has to be the football games. I was fortunate to get season tickets and have not missed a game. I’ve also discovered that there is not a bad seat anywhere in the stadium. I had the worst seats for the LSU game but I still had the time of my life and had no voice the next day. Once again I would like to say how thankful I am and of course GO GATORS!

I am very proud and thankful in accepting this scholarship from the Philadelphia Gator Club. It is a great honor to be recognized and rewarded for my achievements by my fellow Gators. My first semester here at the University of Florida has far exceeded my expectations. I’ve been having a great time playing intramural tennis and I look forward to participating in additional intramural sports in the spring. The football games that I have attended so far here at the Swamp have been very memorable experiences – not only because of Gators’ dominance, but also because of the feeling of unity between the 90,000+ UF students, alumni, and fans. I’m looking forward to a great conclusion to the season as well as our return to power on the basketball court. The classes I’m currently taking for my major, pre-pharmacy, are challenging but enjoyable, and I already can’t wait for my new classes to begin for the spring semester. My only complaint about being here at UF is that I wasn’t able to be in Philly for the Phillies’ championship/parade! Thank you again to the Scholarship Committee and the entire Philadelphia Gator Club.

GO GATORS!
